PEAK’S PEOPLE, PLACES AND EVENTS

Do you ever feel like you are being told so many different things about what “you should” and what “you shouldn’t” eat?

It can be too much.

The one good thing about this oversaturation… you can filter it. You can use it to your benefit and educate yourself about what you’re eating.

And more importantly, where your food is actually coming from.

Cleveland Meats is doing that. They are here for the Sea to Sky corridor. And they can tell you exactly where every item in the store comes from.

A proper butcher. Run by a Squamish local who loves his community.

Justin Robertson opened Cleveland Meats for you. His vision for the business was to provide services and products that Squamish needs.

I am so excited he’s here and what the store brings to the Sea to Sky community.

There is no doubt that organic, hormone-free, non-GMO, local food is what is best for you to consume.

Justin and his team's commitment is to bring you those quality products.

He is not just the owner/operator or backer of the business… he is a trained butcher.

He is in the store, at the counter, helping you get the quality products you deserve.

A little over 3 years ago, Justin still owned and operated financial service centres. He was travelling a lot for work at this time. Having recently started a young family, he wanted to be closer to home

Through his passion for barbeque and quality meats, he saw an opportunity. A chance to provide this community with something we all need. And something he is passionate about.

In his own words “Luckily, I have a very cool wife that let me go back to school. I learned the trade of butchery and worked at a great shop in North Vancouver, Two Rivers Meats. They were able to show me the ropes.”

He has created a wonderful store that is very “Squamish” in nature and uniquely its own at the same time.

Because he and I both share a similar passion... which is to provide you with the best products available. We decided to pair up for Father's Day this year and offer something super fun.

Next Sunday, June 18th here at Peak Provisions, Justin will be offering a BBQ Butcher class

He will be teaching dads and their children how to butcher and prepare meats for an all-time bbq dinner.

Dads and kids will keep the prepared meats they butcher together during the class. They can take these home and make a delicious barbeque meal for Mom and the family

After the butcher class, Justin will barbeque extra meat for the dads and kids to enjoy.

And what is a bbq without beverages? There will be beers for the dads and juice for the littles.

Price for this amazing Dads Day Gift… $99 for dad and one little one ($15 more for each child you would like to join the class. We know lots of you have more than one)

(*please note, the link above will prompt a direct email to me for your booking. I want to directly handle this for all of you and the dads. Use the Subject line “Peak’s Dad’s Day 2023”)

There are only a certain number of spots and you get first dibs.

I promised you would get the inside scoop and first dibs for the special stuff.

We think Dads are pretty special. So now is your chance to get him that awesome Father's Day gift (that also happens to benefit the whole family).

PROVISIONS WE LOVE

Do you have certain items you buy that you might covet over others?

Like your favourite olive oil or maybe it's a special set of dishes you only use for the fancy dinners.

Or it might even be your favourite linens to set the table with.

What about that incredible salt we bring in from Ibiza?

When it comes to both food and homewares, there are too many favourites for me to share here with you.

That is one of the many reasons I decided to start Peak Provisions and share more of these with you.

One of my biggest influences was my dear family friend Muffet.

Yes, that is her name.

She is the owner/operator of a store in Sydney, just off the Swartz Bay Ferry, called Muffet and Louisa.

It is possible that the women in my family have helped keep her in business over the years, I’m not even kidding… between us collectively, we are probably in there once a week.

But Muffet was genuinely excited for me when I decided to open the store. She took the time to teach me so much.

Like how to source the type of goods that you will want and appreciate. How to fill the shop and maintain appropriate quantities for you.

She also shared numerous contacts of suppliers and importers. These are more than half the suppliers we use today.

She’s got damn good taste and I’m so grateful for her support.

She introduced me to Dovetail Collections. They search the world for the finest food selections and homewares. (this is a rabbit hole for another time. And I’ll tell you all about it sometime soon)

I get those incredible English water crackers from Dovetail.

And the stunning L’othantique Tea Towels from France.

Let's not forget the Ibiza Salt company… this is a top-quality product.

A large number of the provisions you find on the shelves here at Peak are from that shared list of distributors.

The one Muffat so generously shared and now I get to share with you.

Come in and ask me about my favourites… I guarantee a few are from Dovetail Collections.

AT THE BAR

The May long weekend Boozy Brunch was a huge success.

You told us and we listened. So now, we are gonna offer Boozy Brunch all summer long on Sundays from 10am till 2pm

You may be wondering… what about the bottomless Mimosa? What is a boozy brunch without these anyway?

So we are bringing those back too. You’re welcome.

There will be Avocado toast (Sundays only) and a few other tasty one-offs sprinkled in each weekend.

Basically, you’ll want to be here for brunch every Sunday, all summer long.

And for those of you who might not make it here before 2pm on Sunday… we don’t judge. Sometimes you need a good ol’ fashioned sleep-in. And we are here to support you in that decision.

That's why we’ve got something for you as well.

We are gonna run happy hour every Sunday afternoon from 2pm until close.

And during that time we will also offer $6 Rosé eh!?

We are here for you. And you deserve a Sunday Funday every week throughout the summer.

Or at least those weeks you are here anyway.

In the meantime, don’t be a stranger.

Come in and hang out with us at the bar soon.

We’ll be here waiting for you.
